Team Bios

Coach Blake Garris is a dedicated and passionate coach who strives for his players to develop a sense of pride and love of the game. A lifelong player at VHSC, he returned to his home club to pour into the younger generations and keep Vestavia Hills Soccer Club at the elite level it has always been. A former goalkeeper, he went on to play club soccer at Troy University, where he captained the team for two years.

As a teacher and coach, he is known for his ability to restore programs to a winning culture and establish young leaders. He started a local middle school program and in 3 seasons, his team became the number one middle school team in the area boasting a record of 14-2 in his third season. At the high school level, he has seen his team excel as an assistant coach and helped coach them to a #2 National Ranking in 2025.

At VHSC, he has coached goalkeepers and assisted with various teams. In his first year as a head coach at VHSC, his team had an incredible season which culminated with a State Championship. He continues to strive tohead coach, his team had an incredible season that culminated inHe has seen his team excel as an assistant coach at the high school level , and in three seasons, his team became the number one middle school team in the area,restoring programs to a winning culture and establishing develop our players at the highest level while maintaining a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
