— Steamers 00 Black are Regional Quarterfinalists! —

After dropping the opening game of the tournament to the eventual Regional Champion, Davie United (FL), Steamers 00 Black rallied to win their remaining two group games against SMSC (3-1) and Concorde Fire (2-0) to secure 2nd place in their regional group.

The Quarterfinal matchup was daunting as the Steamers were slated to play the reigning Regional Champion and National Finalists, FC Dallas Premier. The #5 nationally ranked Dallas squad started fast in the quarterfinal, leading the Steamers 3-0 at halftime.

However, the Vestavia boys rallied in the second half to pull the score to 3-2 with 15 minutes remaining. The boys fought hard until the final whistle before eventually falling 4-2.

We are incredibly proud of this group. This year was the first year Steamers 00 Black won a State Championship and their first trip to Regionals. We are so happy for these kids to not only be able to have the regional experience but to also excel at that level.

A huge thank you to our seniors Braxton Jeffcoat, Cayman Pearson, Ethan Acton, and Keagan McEwan for all they have done for VHSC and good luck to them as they pursue their collegiate careers!
