What is U4 or Mini Kickers Soccer?

Mini Kickers is a fun, new program designed for 3 and 4 year old boys and girls who have a desire to participate in soccer. Mini Kickers train with our professional staff, along with a parent (or older sibling) helper, to learn the basic soccer skills of kicking, dribbling and running. Mini Kickers do not play “games”, but our age specific curriculum provides fun activities that make it a blast for both the parent and the player. Mini Kickers are not assigned to teams or coaches and each week Mini Kickers will play with a few of their old friends as well as playing with new friends.

Who can participate?

Boys and girls whose birthdates fall within the specified time periods are eligible to play U4 soccer. To verify your child’s eligibility to play U4 soccer, click here to return to the Age Group Chart. Please note that all Mini Kickers must have a parent or older sibling helper attend each session with them.

When and Where do the kids play?

The U4 season is a five (5) session season. Each session lasts 45 minutes. The spring season begins in April and ends the first week of May. The fall season starts at mid September and continues through the end of October. Mini Kickers may choose to play at the Liberty Park Soccer Complex on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. or at the Central School field on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.

What equipment is needed to play?

Each Mini Kicker will receive a Mini Kickers t-shirt that will be distributed on the field at the first session. All players are required to wear shin guards. The players may wear black shorts and socks of their own choosing. Soccer cleats are not required and playing in tennis shoes is allowed. All players should bring a size 3 soccer ball and a water/drink bottle to every session.

How much does it cost to participate?

The U4 soccer registration fee is $75 per soccer season.

How do I sign up to play?

For information on the registration process, click on the Register menu at the top of the page.

Can my child play on a team with his or her friends?

Since we don’t form teams in Mini Kickers, everyone can play and train right next to their friends.

How can I help with U4 Soccer?

Adult volunteers are crucial to the success if the program. Without one on one instruction, training players this young could not be done effectively. By following the step by step instruction of our professional staff, the parent will be a “soccer expert” in no time.
