Keegan McQueen Earns Gulf South Conference Player of the Week Honors

  • Keegan McQueen of Steamers 96 Black earned GSC player of the week honors last week behind a 2 goal performance in a 2-1 win over Union. West Alabama is now 2-1-0 to start the season with contributions from a host of former Steamers including Brad Louis, Rakim Ali, Patrick Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Liam Condone, and Jared Walker.

Other Steamers Highlights in College this week:

  • Congrats to JJ Williams for recording his first assist of the year, a game winning assist in a 1-0 win against UAB this past week for #13 University of Kentucky!
  • Stacy Reimann of #9 on the University of Chicago has started in all four wins this season including a statement win on the road at #22 Carthage this past weekend. The maroons and Reimann are starting where they left off in the 2016 season where they went undefeated in the regular season and earned a #1 overall national ranking in Division 3!
  • Congrats to Trey O’Bryant who scored his first goal of the season in a 4-1 win over Huntington College last week.  Sam Kyle, Brady Brannon, J.T. Peifer, and Marvin Castellanos have also contributed to their 4-2 start to the season.
  •  Shadi Awad has started all three games for Washington University in St. Louis at Center Back including a huge shutout win against #23 Luther College!

Way to go Steamers Alumni!
