About the Competitive Program

The Club’s competitive program is one of the largest and most successful in the State of Alabama, fielding teams that compete at the regional and national levels.  The program offers kids from the greater Birmingham area and surrounding states the opportunity to match their skills and talents with the “best of the best.”  Players in the competitive program are seriously committed to their team and ultimately to the sport of soccer.  The Club offers professional coaching and training for boys and girls ages U-11 to U-19 and depending on the age level, teams play in Division I, Division II, and Region III Premier League, as well as tournaments throughout the Southeast.

But perhaps most telling about our program is the number of U-18 team members that annually receive full or partial collegiate soccer scholarships.  The Club feels a strong commitment towards showcasing these players and promoting their talents and we believe that commitment can be seen in the number of former Club players playing at the collegiate level. The Club’s competitive program owes much of its success to our coaching staff.  The Club employs four full-time soccer professionals and numerous part-time highly qualified staff coaches and trainers that coach full time at the college and high school levels.  For more information on the Club’s competitive coaching staff, click on the Technical Staff link under the Competitive menu above.

Selection for a competitive team is determined by the coaching staff during multi-day evaluations designed to test each player’s soccer skills and ability.  Tryouts for the competitive teams are held each year in June.  For more information on the competitive team tryouts, click on the Tryouts link under the Competitive menu above.
