— West Alabama Wins 4th Consecutive Conference Championship —

Steamers Alumni at University of West Alabama

The Gulf South Conference Championship game was chalked full of former Steamers this weekend. Seniors Keegan Mcqueen, Brad Louis, Patrick Carroll, and Stephen Carroll (Steamers 96 Black) won their 4th conference championship in their collegiate careers this weekend in penalty kicks against UAH.

 

Rakim Ali (Steamers 98 Black) and Liam Condone (Steamers 98 Black) also featured for West Alabama as well as Daniel Buchanan (Steamers 96 Black) and Clay Mcdonald (Steamers 97 Black) for UAH.

Brad Louis saved one penalty in the win while Keegan Mcqueen and Daniel Buchanan both converted theirs. Louis was named to the all-tournament team in addition to a second team all-conference selection. Mcqueen also received second team all-conference honors.

UWA has earned a #11 NCAA national ranking and the #2 seed in the NCAA South Regional and will play the University of Tampa Sunday, Nov 12 at Noon ET.

Congratulations to all the former Steamers who featured in the GSC Championship game and good luck to UWA in the NCAA Tournament!

Congratulations to Kennedy Davis (Steamers 98) and #16 Dartmouth College for winning the Ivy League for the 4th consecutive year.

Congratulations to Stacy Reimann (Steamers 96) and #11 the University of Chicago for their 3rd straight berth to the NCAA Tournament. Chicago will host Lake Forest in the first round on Saturday, Nov 11at 5:00 PM CT.
